Johnnie Walker Deconstructed
We had a super evening last Wednesday in the company of Charlotte Barker from Diageo. She was hosting the Johnnie Walker Blue deconstructed night.
There are an unknown number of whiskies that go into this deluxe blend. Some of which are from long lost distilleries and exceptionally rare, aged casks.
We got to try five of the more accessible one’s.
It was a treat to have a verbal distillery tour for the spicy, saline Clynelish, subtle, vanilla cream Inchgower, smooth, honeyed Royal Lochnager to the winey, raisin Mortlach & oily, tar and fruit cake Caol Ila.
Having thoroughly enjoyed all these we then got to try the star of the evening the Blue Label.
It was extraordinary how this encompassed everything we had already tried and more, all wrapped in silk!
It was a glorious ending to a really fun evening.
